AREA INFORMATION

Ashbourne Country Escape is perfectly situated on the south side of the Sabi River Valley. It is elevated by 200 meters, giving a spectacular view of the valley, and the Drakensberg in the west to the Kruger Park in the East. The hub of Hazyview village, complete with its pubs and restaurants is only 4 kms away. Being higher than the valley floor, we get cool breezes and escape the sweltering heat of the lower areas. We are also out of the malaria area.

ATTRACTIONS

The lodge is quiet and peaceful. The location ensures excellent bird life, wonderful views, great walks, limitless mountain bike rides, a small dam for fishing, a swimming pool. The location couldn't be better for adventure sports, touring the Panorama Route, or day trips into the Kruger Park. The lodge is just 4 km from the village restaurants and pubs, and 14 kms from the entrance to Kruger. Ashbourne is perfectly situated for your time in the lowveld. The finest restaurant in the area is right next door, as is the health spa. White water rafting, hot air ballooning, quad biking, and Africa's longest tree canopy cable slide are all within a few kilometres. If you enjoy touring, the bottom of the farm goes down to the famous Panarama Route...to Sabi, Pilgrims Rest, Blyde River and Gods Window. You also have a choice of two golf courses, hiking, birdwatching or, best of all, stay and relax next to the pool!
