Set in lush green and tranquil garden-like surroundings the Athlone Lodge is set in an elevated position in Athlone, Pietermaritzburg with stunning views. Athlone is a naturally beautiful suburb of Pietermaritzburg near amenities and attractions. Accommodation is offered in deluxe king rooms and a family unit. The deluxe king rooms each have private access from outside the lodge. These air-conditioned rooms each contain a king-size bed that can be converted to twin single beds, an en-suite bathroom with a shower, a desk, a flat-screen TV, and a kitchenette fitted with a microwave, fridge, toaster and tea and coffee station. The family unit is located inside the lodge and comprises 2 bedrooms These two rooms share a bathroom across the hall with a bath and a shower. The first bedroom contains a King Size bed/twin beds (on request) and single bed. Second bedroom contains Double bed & single. Should you require a 3 bedroom you can also book out the French suite which is attached to the 2 bedroom unit which consits of Queen bed with en-suite bathroom with a bath and shower. This room contains a flat-screen TV, a microwave, a tea and coffee station and a bar fridge. These two rooms share a bathroom across the hall with a bath and a shower. Guests can make use of the light and bright guest lounge and dining area, take a dip in the sparkling swimming pool, or relax in the sheltered pergola and enjoy the quiet. The lodge offers secure off-street parking.

King Shaka International Airport is a one-hour and 18-minute drive (107.8 km) via the N3. Elephant & Co, Fire & Vine, Rock n' Roll Cafe, Salt of the Earth Café, Olive & Oil, CoffeeBox, Sagewood Cafe, Atasca Portuguese Restaurant, Mozambik, Jayz Grill and Cafe Gelato are all wonderful restaurants in the area.
