Mountain Pastures, nestled in the De Hoop valley between the Kouga and Honniball mountains, is situated next to the popular R62 route, 18 km from Uniondale. Accommodation is offered in various tasteful, individually decorated and cosy chalets, each with a tea and coffee station and Wi-Fi internet access. Most units have a private patio with stunning mountain views. Guests are welcome to use the centralised communal kitchen, lounge and dining room as well as a patio with braai facilities. The on-site Farm Shop offers a variety of jams, raw honey, artisan soaps, rusks, snacks, sweets, firewood and curious. With its built-in fireplace, the “waenhuis” which was originally used for sheep farming purposes, has now been transformed into the ideal venue for corporate events, conferences and other informal functions. The conference venue can host 30 delegates, seated U-shape. For other functions, up to 70 people can be seated depending on the seating style. Complementing the conference room, are two break-away rooms, each accommodating up to 20 people. These venues can also be used as boardrooms for smaller groups or functions. Standard conference equipment, including equipment for audiovisual presentations, is available. You will be overwhelmed by the fresh air, incredible mountain views and the peacefulness after sunset when the sky fills with stars. Or just relax and enjoy a crisp morning game drive with the beauty of the rising African sun as a backdrop. Catch a bass while being watched by our inquisitive eland, zebra, springbok or even see our (almost extinct) blue cranes raising their young, while the black eagles soar overhead. In the afternoon, take a trip to see the elusive lynx or, if you are fortunate, the scarcely seen, phantom-like leopard. The more energetic may be tempted to explore the mountains on foot where the huge variety of fynbos can be appreciated and a possible encounter with some of the smaller members of the bush family will add to a very special and holistic bush experience.
