16 Mile View offers two self-catering housing accommodation options and is located on the oceanfront in Yzerfontein. Guests can enjoy a tranquil beach break in this quiet West Coast town.
Accommodation comprises of 2 options: Holiday Home Unit A and Unit B with External Staircases.
Unit A is a 2 bedroom house with External Staircase and is split into 2 levels.
The main section of the house is upstairs with 1 bedroom and 1 full bathroom; the bedroom is equipped with a queen-size bed. The main house features an open-plan kitchen and living area leading onto an enclosed balcony with incredible views.
Guests will need to use the outside stairs that lead downstairs to the flatlet, which is an open space furnished with a double bed, and 2 single beds. The flat contains 1 bathroom fitted with a shower, toilet and sink. A small kitchenette, and a fireplace.
Unit B is a 3 bedroom house with External Staircase and is split into 2 levels.
The main house is downstairs accessible via steps with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom with a bath, toilet and sink. The main house features an open-plan kitchen and living area leading onto an enclosed balcony with exceptional views. The main bedroom has a king-size bed and the second bedroom has single bunk beds.
The flatlet is on road level above the entrance of the main house, contains a kingsize bed with 1 bathroom fitted with a shower, toilet and sink along with coffee making facilities.
Secure off road parking is available, as well as free Wi-Fi access on the property. The wifi is connected to a UPS system so during load-shedding there should still be access. We have also fitted all light bulbs with power recharge bulbs which will last for 2 hours if charged well.
Yzerfontein is known for its natural scenic beauty. Vast stretches of unspoilt beaches, including the 16 Mile Beach stretching from the main beach towards the West Coast National Park that borders the town, create a tranquil environment perfect for unwinding away from the city. About 10 km offshore of Yzerfontein, Dassen Island offers a quiet retreat with an abundance of birds and photographic scenery.
Nature lovers will be in their element with activities like mountain biking, whale and dolphin spotting in season, bird watching, scenic drives, and day tours to the surrounding areas. During spring, fields of beautiful wild flowers add colour to the area and provide the perfect backdrop for a family or couple photo. For the energetic, a variety of hiking trails are on offer, such as the Darling Stagger, Elandsfontein Private Reserve, Grotto Bay Coastal Nature Reserve, and Tienie Versveld Reserve. Those who venture into the West Coast National Park can expect to see wildlife such as eland, bontebok, springbok, steenbok, kudu, duiker, Cape mountain zebra, caracal, African wild cat, and the Bat-eared fox.
