Eva and Hermann Rudolph, both architects and owners of the Boutique Hotel Adara in Lindau on Lake Constance, discovered this jewel of the Winelands in 2012 as guests during a trip to Africa, and were able to acquire it in 2021. Eva Rudolph already had restored a historical complex from the 13th century in Lindau in 2014, in which the Adara is now located. Since the end of 2021, the estate has been extensively renovated with the same commitment to quality and historic preservation. The Jacaranda House, as the oldest building, was built in 1754. The estate will reopen in November 2023 as an exquisite Farm Boutique Hotel.
There are some great mountain trails, and the Drakenstein Mountain Reserve is home to a variety of protea plant species, rare birds, baboons and mountain bok. The winelands are blessed with some of the finest restaurants the Cape has to offer. There are so many top class wine farms in our area.
Paarl is famous for its rock climbing terrain. This activity caters for the adventure-seeker and includes a decent through the Limietberge canyon using abseils, jumps, belays and traverses. With no less than six waterfalls, abseils range from 15 to 50 metres with the option of cliff jumping for the brave-hearted.
