Accommodation is offered in The Nautilus House which is a private Bohemian-styled family home, and the Adventurer’s Escape which is a private and unique cabin plus a glamping tent.
The Nautilus House can accommodate up to 4 guests and is a great space for families or two couples to share and enjoy. The home comprises 2 self-catering units, an upstairs and a downstairs unit, which are booked exclusively to one group at a time. If only 2 guests book, then only access to the upstairs main section is given, and for groups of 3 to 4 guests then both sections are opened. The house has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms have queen-size beds. The pizza oven, braai and large decks are perfect for long lazy lunches and moonlit dinners. A strong Wi-Fi signal offers the opportunity to work remotely in a peaceful and beautiful setting. Unwind and relax in the wood-fired Kolkol hot tub while stargazing.
The Adventurer’s Escape private cabin and glamping tent can accommodate up to 4 guests, and are booked exclusively to one group at a time. If only 2 guests book then the tent is locked, but if 4 guests book then both the cabin and tent are opened. The cabin has a bedroom with a queen-size bed and the glamping tent contains a double bed. The cabin has a lounge area with a fireplace, an outdoor kitchen and dining area, and an outdoor bathroom with a shower and toilet. The bathroom is about 4 metres away from the kitchen, and is well-lit at night with solar lights. The cabin also has a deck with a fire pit, a wood-fired Kolkol hot tub to relax under the stars, and a unique ‘plunge pool’ in a boat.
Hear the lions roaring in the early morning and evening from Tenikwa Wildlife Rehabilitation centre or the black and white Madagascan lemurs from Monkeyland luring whistle in the morning.
A private getaway close to tourist attractions in the area include Monkey Land, Birds of Eden, Africanyon, the Elephant Sanctuary, Tenikwa wildlife, bungy jumping. Wine farms include Bramon, Kay and Monty and Newstead wines.
Just down the road is Natures Valleys famous otter trail and Salt river hike which starts from Adventurers Escape. There is also the Pepper Mill restaurant which serves delicious food and pizzas, Bread and Brew coffee shop and Natures Way Farm Stall.
