Leisure Isle is a residential island in the Knysna Lagoon. The attractive island is part of South African National Parks (SANP) and is very clean. Security on the island is a non-issue and you will feel absolutely safe everywhere you go.

Being an island you are surrounded by water on all sides with the constant change of ebb and flow. During Low Tide, you can walk to the Knynsa Heads and during high tide, it is very safe to swim. Explore the island with the free bicycles, go for a jog around the island ( 3 km in total) stop in at the wonderful coffee shops or watch the sunset from the beach with a cool drink in your hands. Knysna is very scenic and popular with hikers. You are also very close to the many forests around Knynsa, ideal for hiking and maybe seeing an elephant. The Knysna Waterfront and Thesen Island with their many restaurants and shops are only a short drive away. Make sure to visit the Featherbed Nature Reserve on one of the ferries.
