Bongela Private Game Lodge is situated in the Waterberg Biosphere in Limpopo Province, just over a 2-hour drive from Johannesburg or Pretoria and is just 15 km from the farm town of Vaalwater which is well known for its tourist attractions, arts and crafts as well as the peaceful and tranquil surroundings it has to offer. “Bongela” means “to be grateful for” and offers guests beautiful sights and sounds of nature, pristine bushveld, beautiful and luxurious areas of rest and pure bliss. The beautiful accommodation is serviced daily and overlooks the central waterhole attracting birds and mostly Nyala. All the units offer coffee-making facilities, a mini fridge, and a bathroom with a view including a bath and shower. The lodge offers rest areas with a self-service coffee station, DStv in common areas, a fully licensed bar, lounge and reading corner, wine tasting in the cellar, and a Cognac and Whiskey lounge. Various dining experiences are available and guests can be seated in the main dining area, on the covered patio outside or at smaller tables under umbrellas around the pool and boma area. The entertainment area offers a pool table and a game of darts, table tennis on the deck, a heated swimming pool with a sunbathing deck, pool lounges and a large pool to cool off in. Sundowners can be enjoyed on the deck at the dam and the boma area is perfect for sitting around the fire after sunset and enjoying the evening sounds. Guests can enjoy early morning, evening and night drives, explore the mountain biking and walking trails, and do some bow or clay pigeon shooting while kids are entertained at the kids’s play area. For the souvenir hunters, a curio shop is available at reception. Bongela also delivers the perfect setting for corporate events such as year-end functions, team building, award ceremonies and conference facilities with various corporate packages.
