Hanover is a quaint little Karoo town with houses from eras long gone. It was once the residence of the famous South African writer Olive Schreiner. Her house, her cottage and her husband's office are all still there. The town has a spring, which was walled during the Boer war. From Trappieskop, one can have a helicopter view of Hanover and its surroundings. Furthermore, Hanover houses one of the most beautiful churches in South Africa. The church is open for visitors prior to appointment. The local museum gives you a good impression of how the people lived about 150 years ago.
