Buccara Waterberg – Molapo offers an exclusive, malaria-free escape in the heart of the Waterberg Biosphere, with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Perfect for small groups or families seeking a private bush getaway, this tranquil retreat promises comfort, seclusion, and natural beauty.
The lodge accommodates up to 14 guests across 7 air-conditioned bedrooms, including 2 suites in the Main House and 5 standalone chalets, each with its own en-suite bathroom.
The Main House features a shared dining room, a cozy lounge with fireplace, a TV room with a built-in (unstocked) bar, and a fully equipped kitchen—ideal for self-catering or private chef arrangements. Outdoor amenities include a traditional open-air boma with a fire pit, braai, and pizza oven, as well as a swimming pool with sun loungers for daytime relaxation.
Located approximately 4 hours from O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, the final leg of the journey includes 42 km of gravel road, taking about 1 hour and 45 minutes to navigate. For this reason, we strongly recommend traveling in a high-clearance 4x4 vehicle (SUV or pickup), as the route is remote and off the beaten track.
Situated on the North-Eastern boundary of the Waterberg Biosphere Reserve, one of 400 UNESCO-registered Biosphere reserves world-wide, Molapo is a 1750 hectare private wildlife sanctuary.
Nestled in the heart of South Africa’s Limpopo Province, Waterberg stands as a testament to natural wonder. Its rolling hills, striking gorges, and expansive savannahs create an awe-inspiring backdrop, with the iconic Waterberg Plateau dominating the skyline—a geological marvel reflecting millions of years of evolution.
This region is a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts, home to diverse species including the Big Five. Private game reserves and national parks offer thrilling safari experiences while actively supporting vital conservation efforts.
Embrace the allure of Waterberg, where captivating landscapes, diverse wildlife, and rich cultural treasures converge, promising an unforgettable journey in South Africa’s stunning heartland.
