Cathkin Cottage Bed and Breakfast is conveniently situated in the heart of the Champagne Valley and in close proximity to all local attractions & restaurants. The start of popular hiking trails are within walking distance from the Cottage. We offer genuine hospitality with comfortable accommodation and beautifully decorated communal areas for guests to enjoy. The rooms are all en-suite and have private outside entrances to the garden. There is a lovely patio where we serve breakfast overlooking the swimming pool and with views of the valley.
Please note we do not accommodate children under the age of 12 years old. However should you reserve the entire house for self catering, then we accommodate all ages. Self Catering must be booked directly with us, and is for the exclusive use of the property (sleeps 10 maximum).
Champagne Valley is an area of outstanding beauty situated in the Central Drakensberg and within a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We are 2.5 hours drive from Durban and 4,5 hours from Johannesburg. The two highest peaks, Champagne Castle and Cathkin Peak are found here and often in Winter will be covered in snow. Summers are generally warm with temperatures ranging from 25-37 degrees celsuis. Winters are generally cool with temperature ranging from 3-21 degrees celsuis.
The area offers beauty at every turn - each with a new and different view of the magnificent Drakensberg mountains and its surrounds. The Monks Cowl National Park is in close proximity and easily accessible.
There are many activities in the region, and being centrally situated you will find they are all in within easy access.
