Donkin House and our annexes provide 42 units in total and all are ideally situated in the heart of Beaufort West, right on the main road (N1), with a yellow VW bus infront of our main guesthouse entrance and reception. All check-ins to be done at our main Reception desk, and you will be shown to your unit at Donkin House, Donkin Villa, Donkin Gardens, Donkin Corner, or Appirklaas Self-catering Units. Our guests range from families with children, solo travellers, couples, friends, corporate travellers and those seeking overnight accommodation. We are pleased to welcome pets by arrangement, pet fee applies. We offer a homely restaurant with Breakfast and Dinner by reservation, lisenced bar that is open while the restaurant is open, and a gym and Wi-Fi that is free to use by our guests. Our rooms are cosy, clean, and equipped with en-suite facilities, as well as comlimentaty coffee, tea, sugar, milk. For guests with disabilities or wheelchair needs, we can provide a specially designed room upon request, featuring easy access and wider doors.
Beaufort West displays flamboyant Victorian, elegant Georgian, Edwardian, Romanesque, Cape Dutch, Neo-Gothic, Neo-Classic and Contemporary styles of architecture in an easy walk through the centre of town. Nearby: *Museum *Golf course *Cycling paths *Game Viewing
Some of these are national monuments today, such as the old town hall, mission church and the Barnard House (heart-transplant pioneer Professor Chris Barnard, considered the town’s famous son, is honoured here as part of the museum). The Karoo National Park is situated 5km outside Beaufort West, on the way to Cape Town.
