Situated in the Western Cape, Faraway Estate is an accommodation, wedding and events venue that intertwines glamour and romance with an opulent and comfortable manor in the glorious countryside. The manor stands at the foothills of Villiersdorp’s Stettynsberg Mountain on a working farm of olives, figs and pomegranates. Its awe-inspiring location has spectacular views of both the mountainside directly above and deciduous fruit farms in the valley below with the magnificent Theewaterskloof Dam, the largest of Cape Town’s water supplies, in the distance. The main Manor House is a self-catering holiday home, ideal for groups of 6 to 20. The main house is the central attraction with its generous kitchen and abundant living spaces. The bedrooms each have their own en-suite bathroom with a warming rack for towels. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a scullery, pantry, large kitchen table and washing machine, dryer and dishwasher. The home has a sun-room with spectacular 360-degree views, a lounge with ample comfortable seating, a billiards room, and a cellar with a selection of wines from local wineries. Endless doors and windows let in sunshine and fresh air, which can also be enjoyed outdoors. A stretched out lawn overlooks the valley, while a spacious courtyard leads to an abundantly green garden. An inside and outside braai area are available as well as a swimming pool area with lounge furniture. Vehicles can be parked in three locked garages. The Protea Guest Cottage is situated about 600 m away from the main dwelling, easy enough to reach by foot or motor vehicle. The close proximity to the farm’s working shed gives guests the glimpse of the working farm, without being involved. The main living space consists of an open-plan living, small kitchen and dining area. The kitchen, though small, is fully equipped for self-catering. The main bedroom has a king bed and comfy leather couch and the amazing en suite bathroom that will delight; the glass roof with amazing view on the trees and mountain from the shower and bath will amaze you. The second bedroom consists of a double bed and a bunk bed perfect for a family with youngsters or children. The en-suite bathroom is beautiful and comfortable. The large 40m² roofed verandah with a table and chairs as well as a comfy outside couch allows beautiful views of the mountain. The small garden and massive oak tree allow additional spaces to relax and to appreciate the Berg. The garden has a built-in outside braai and wood from the Estate. Last but not least, is the large 11m diameter farm swimming dam with cool, clean water from the mountains. And this is a dam with a view.
