Overview

Set amid dense mopane woodlands, Khanya Conservation Camp provides an authentic, back-to-roots safari experience tailored for groups of friends, families, or like-minded explorers passionate about wildlife and wilderness preservation. The camp is steeped in history, located on land once owned by a visionary cattle farmer who cultivated a thriving enterprise by breeding cattle and transporting them by train. Over time, recognising the area’s ecological significance, the land was restored to its natural state and integrated into the greater Kruger ecosystem. Today, this conservation area plays a vital role in protecting the region’s flora and fauna, ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come. With elephants frequently seen near the camp’s water pan, guests can enjoy incredible wildlife sightings from the comfort of the camp. Khanya Conservation Camp combines an immersive outdoor lifestyle with uncompromising comfort, offering a sanctuary for adventurers and wildlife. By supporting the camp, you contribute to vital conservation efforts, helping to preserve Africa’s natural heritage. Join us for an unforgettable journey into the heart of the African wilderness, where your stay makes a meaningful difference.

Khanya Conservation Camp is located in the GDP Reserve which forms part of the well-known Balule Nature Reserve in the Greater Kruger. GDP Reserve offers opportunities to spot the Big 5. Occupying a territory of 5500 hectares bordering the perennial Olifants River, Khanya offers the best of both savannah and riverfront habitats. In addition, the undulating landscapes laden with rocky outcrops and hills provide plenty of den sites for big cats. Hippos and crocodiles can be seen in the river. Khanya Bush Camp is located 15km from Phalaborwa town and 20km from the Phalaborwa Kruger Gate.
