The Greater St.Lucia Wetland Park, now known as the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO protocol and is South Africa's first and largest Natural World Heritage Site. The beautiful little village of St.Lucia characterizes the southern most tip of the Greater St.Lucia Wetland Park. St.Lucia is situated between the Indian Ocean and the St.Lucia Estuary. It is the only village totally surrounded by a Natural World Heritage Site.
