Meyerhof Accommodation on Meyer Street is just a five-minute drive from the Constantiaberg Medical Hospital. Our accommodation rates include optional transportation to and from this medical facility for your convenience.
Our cherished home, Meyerhof, is a Cape Dutch farmhouse built in 1814. This historic and unique thatched home comes with associated self-catering apartments and a studio. The property boasts multiple outdoor, furnished relaxation and social areas set within an eclectic and expansive, lush garden. There are two pools, two gazebo-covered areas on a terrace, and a courtyard, along with several braai/barbecue opportunities in diverse spaces for your enjoyment.
Each of our characterful accommodations, along with various room options, offers up to two guests a comfortable, homely environment. The furnishings and decor are thoughtfully designed, honouring aspects of the property's rich history.
Nestled only a 10-minute drive from the edges of the Constantia Valley Wine Route, Meyerhof is ideally located for exploring renowned wine estates such as Groot Constantia, Eagles Nest, Constantia Glen, and Beau Constantia. City Sightseeing Cape Town's open-top buses conveniently operate from within or just outside these farms. Buitenverwachting and Klein Constantia wine farms are also easily accessible, situated on the opposite side of the historic Groot Constantia.
If a town in the centre of London's Greenwich or Cape Town could be mistaken for the English village after which it is named, it would be Plumstead, a rather sizable suburb just south of Wynberg that is split in two by the Main Road and the railway line. Known as the "Cinderella" of Wynberg and Diep River, Plumstead is primarily populated by elderly and creative young people who are purchasing older homes and renovating them into contemporary styles. The neighbourhood is full of houses constructed in the 1940s and 1950s.
Despite having modest barriers and off-street parking that is not hidden behind six-meter fortifications, Plumstead is a patchwork of streets bordered by trees. People stop to talk and stroll their dogs here.
