The beautiful garden has a fir forest and 2 large dams which are frequented by various waterfowl who will entertain you for hours. Geese, an Ibis and a pair of Hadida, plus a family of Guinea Fowl are regular visitors and there have been several sightings of an Otter over the recent months. You will often find the 2 resident Labradors and a Daschund all of whom love to meet our guests.

There are several shops selling old and unusual items which are well worth a visit. Napier is known as the home to several local artists and much of their work is on exhibit in one or other of the various galleries in the village.
There is a regular Saturday morning market held in the village where local food and artisan products can be purchased - a chance to meet some locals in the process.
Napier is approximately 30 minutes drive from the beaches at Arniston and Agulhas, and is within easy driving distance of Hermanus, Gansbaai, Elim, and Stanford. It is approximately 2 hours from Cape Town and is an ideal location for those wishing to explore the Garden Route after a stop over at Peace Valley Guesthouse.

Elim is a quaint village which is a Moravian community and is where the local Thatchers originate from - it is well worth a visit not least of all because of the several wineries that have opened over the last few years. De Hoop, Die Mond and Cape Agulhas National Park are similarly within easy driving distance of Napier.
